I haven't blogged here for over a month. I'm waiting to be uplifted. But I'm not. I thought I'd blog just to show I'm not dead, but living and thinking.
Watching the world go by from my position on this alien planet, I notice how very uniform Western culture has become and how much it is coveted by people not living in it.
I'd like out - they want in!
Mass production of political correctness is implanted in the people by tame media and tame education, serving their political masters and ideologies.
There is no luck, fate, magic, wonder, excitement, awe, serendipity on
the planet in the west - well none allowed by the prevailing culture -
it is experienced covertly only. It is not politically correct to think
that something greater than us might possibly exist.
Science leads. Statistics and evidence based facts are Supreme.
The inhabitants of the west dress in mass produced clothing, live and work in mass produced buildings, tightly controlled by regulations and protected by health and safety laws.
Ingenuity, spontaneity and individuality have been cloned into celebrity who do the stuff for the watching dis-empowered people.
Adventure is practiced on safe mass produced slopes, ropes, vehicles, and centres in mass produced adventure industry uniforms.
Health is controlled in a one-size-fits-all medical system, preaching to the people in a tongue more fire and brimstone than the old vision of hell and satan. Death is more feared than ever, not viewed as being the companion to life and a blessing to sufferers, but something to be avoided at all costs, even suffering to do so.
The West has become a playground for a restless bored species consuming itself, whilst marketing "happiness".

Translucence rising - Climate Science reflects modern science (videos)
There's been a frisson among climate scientists that give us a peek into science today.
(interesting comments)
There has at last been a judgment against Mann - the scientist who, with his "hockey stick graph" that we saw so prominently in Al Gore's "An Inconvenient Truth" - was annoyed because it was criticised as trash by another scientist called Steyn. So he sued him. The court proceedings have dragged on for years, during which time Mann refused to share his data (surprise?). The Judge has just chucked his case out. And Steyn has put in a counter suit. Mann is bankrupt already and is probably due to get more bankrupt if that is possible. To read the claims see here.
It is totally possible and becoming even most probable that the whole Global Warming thing is a load of bollocks, imposed on us by a set of scientists spouting rubbish, experts, who, advise governments that have immediately seen the opportunity to make money out of a population converted by An Inconvenient Truth and a blind trust in Science and who can be made to feel guilty for their actions. The same social engineering using guilt as the prod is used against smokers.
We must NOT trust scientists. They are misusing science. Science is fantastic unless it is used to promote ideologies or industries. Industries carrying ideologies that have emerged in our modern world are the Global Warming Industry, The Charities Industries, The Tobacco Control Industries, The Education Industries, The Quango and Advisory Industries, The Politician Industry, The Health and Pharmaceutical Industries, The Psychiatric Industry, and many more. They all have self perpetuating motives and an internally self consensus bias that promotes their own self righteousness.
Those who break ranks are viciously punished, as the court case above shows. But a case like this does nothing to expose the error of the scientists, only their arrogance.
How do we ordinary people expose these errors of science? Without scientific knowledge we cannot. But we can use our wits. If there is an "industry" dangling off a set of "facts" (like the facts of second hand smoke, or the perils of vaping) our personal experience should sharpen our perception that the "facts" are suspicious.
I think this is a mass hoax era. And the new industry scientists drive it with their "expertise".

Translucence rising - Placebo means Nocebo too.
My wish for 2014 was that truth would rise up as the year progressed.
Last night in the UK, we were provided with a program - Horizon: The Power of Placebo (BBC Two). If I link it here, it will not be available after two weeks - so please Google it if you want to watch it. Sometimes these programs go up to YouTube after a while.
"The Power of Placebo" is the first time I have seen mainstream media offering anything intelligent on placebo. It is well worth watching. It gives us scientific reasons for effects us humans have known about since the first Shaman on earth. We are what we think.
We are what we think.
This is so utterly simple, yet encompasses and explains so much. Placebo could cloak Homeopathy, hypnotherapy, spiritual healing, faith healing, shamanism, and LOVE into mainstream. I talk about LOVE as caring/attention - not mindless copulation as is the trend.
So to see Placebo taken seriously for the first time, has been uplifting for me. The truth that it is a thing that is no longer questionable is a ray of light in our mainstream darkness.
Anyone who has lived in Africa knows that Placebo has its opposite. And it's the opposite that is the dangerous one. Believers that m'tagati has been cast on them in Africa, sicken and die. REALLY. In our enlightened times, spells are cast constantly. They percolate into every brain so none of us are free of them.
In the UK, there is a fixation on "health"or rather, the avoidance of ill health. This is not the same as celebrating the joy of being "well". Our TV/Media overflows with fear. Our Government legislates for it. The citizens are drip fed it. Our politicians are paralysed by it.
Soon, we will have legislation introducing plain packs with medical porn visuals and SMOKING KILLS, even larger than reality on them. When will anyone take seriously that such an action is a crime against those who smoke? Smokers, their families and all whose eyes fall on plain packaging are having a spell cast on them. Not only that, but "third hand smoke" has raised it's ugly head again. "Third hand smoke" will wreck trillions of lives/businesses if it is allowed loose and not challenged.
Trouble is, with nocebos, one tiny idea implanted, however briefly, can poison.
Electronic cigarettes are the target for fear induction now. Only vapers themselves actually know about vaping and what it has done to improve personal health. Only vapers know the miracle. We know that we do want regulation to keep us safe from dodgy e liquid or exploding batteries. But such regulation would be the same as we expect for exploding washing machines, or bottles of bleach. We need protection as consumers.
Nocebos and fear about vaping are being offered in the media, considered by legislators, and pushed by fear cursed politicians.
Smokers have been used for voodoo since the1980's. It is time it stopped. Vapers need to arm themselves with powerful positive thought. We ARE what we think.
In 2014 I hope to see that, if the idea of The Power of Placebo is now accepted as real and "scientific" someone somewhere, will study The Power of Nocebo. If any scientist reads this blog, I suggest that smokers are a good subject. They are the only group that have been constantly cursed by anti smoking ideology. China, in particular NOW, has a SIGNIFICANTLY lower death rate from smoking than the west. They are "pures" in that they have been free of nocebo around smoking.
When we accept scientifically that we are what we think, our health will be transformed. Accepting that negative ideas we tell others to think, can be a dangerous, immoral action, and voodoo implanted via media and governance stopped, we might transform our world.

The Tyranny of "good"
Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its
victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under
robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's
cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be
satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us
without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.
CS Lewis
Now, in the UK, we have a tyranny of "good". Our government is not a democracy, but a lobbyocracy. The reason why laws get passed in parliament, is not that the people want them, but because fronts/charities/entities/ lobby groups intent to change society "for its own good" make it happen. That is why, when you live in the UK, the laws seem so discordant with what most ordinary people think.
CS Lewis - those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience. And may I add, convince us that we can feel righteous approval of OUR consciences, only if we and politicians also agree with them. It's a hopeless case really it is.
BRING ON THE ROBBER BARONS PLEASE!

Translucence rising - Promises, promises, promises
My wish or 2014 was to see wrongs exposed in our world. I wish for a year of translucence arising.
IF David Cameron gets in on the next election (which I think is highly unlikely), he PROMISES to have a referendum on EU membership for us here in the UK.
Promises, promises, promises! Promises are a kind of corruption. Especially when you use them as "bait" for votes. We should have had a referendum NOW if the man was really sincere.
Politicians are corrupt. Politics is corrupt. The political elite are corrupt. The EU is corrupt.
Corruption across EU 'breathtaking' - EU Commission
But 64% of British respondents said they believed corruption to be widespread in the UK, while the EU average was 74% on that question.
Originally, the report was also supposed to have included a chapter assessing corruption within EU institutions as well as within member states. But that idea was dropped.
The idea was dropped? I wonder why? I think the EU Institution is virtually totally corrupt. In fact, the shenanigans with electronic cigarettes has absolutely PROVED it to millions of us vapers. I will delight the day that is exposed too!
Until then, I don't think we believe promises any more.

The mask of respectability
This is an interesting idea which I'm thinking about.
The idea is that Social Services, children's homes, young offenders institutions, the prison services, The Home Office is a vast industry. Each section makes a profit off the other.
I don't know much about any of these sections of "the industry" but I know that in the USA, prison services are private companies. I think some are in UK too.
The idea disquiets me. I am willing to believe it to be true. The comodity that is used to make the profit, are children.
Behind the mask of respectability, hide horrible undercurrents. We ask "How could society IN THOSE DAYS let that happen?" Here is a comprehensive link to The Monsters of Medomsley.
The 27 suicides and missing children of the nineties in the young offenders care establishment are not explained - yet.
Behind our current respectability, we pretend nothing similar happens today. We add a lucrative section of psychologists now into "the industry" (because we are respectable) yet the industry is still under fire.
2012 - Care system 'fails young offenders', says report
2013 - Youth justice system is 'failing vulnerable young offenders'
2014 - the industry grows - 'Fortified school' planned to improve education of young offenders
The Standing Committee for Youth Justice is not a parliamentary committee but a membership body; it describes itself as "an alliance of over 30 organisations working together to improve the youth justice system in England and Wales".
Just wondering....

The money diet makes you feel so gooood! Like Paleo and vaping
I was working on a post that I was going to call "the Money Diet". My Paleo way of eating and exercising and vaping instead of smoking is very satisfying. It makes me happy and my health is excellent at the moment. I am perfect except for the tendancy towards a sugar reading on the cusp of being diabetic. I control my sugar to be normal by eating a high fat, low carb diet.
But my money diet is equally pleasing! I spend very little. I buy most of my clothes second hand, not because I am mean particularly, but I lower the rape of the earth in a small way by doing this. And real people get my money. We don't go out to eat much, because husband is a fantastic cook and "out" food is somehow disappointing, not memorable. Why waste money on second grade goods? If we do buy a big item, we go for good rather than price and avoid silly white goods insurance where in two years you could buy two new machines for the price of it instead. We have found wonderful good things on Freegle which is a system of giving away freely that which you no longer need. And we give too.
There is a most delicious delight in the feeling that you have aquired something valuable in exchange for your money rather than feeling let down by it. Its the same feeling I get when I do not eat the coffee and walnut cake covered with butter icing or smoked an analogue instead of vaping.
Vaping pleases me, not only because I enjoy it more than smoking tobacco, but because it is a really good experience for less money than smoking. I would assume it will be heavily taxed in the future when we are made into dispicable nicotine addicts by the really dispicable Tobacco Control Industry. That will be a shame.
So I was beavering away at this post, when I found this excellent post that follows. Please read and enjoy. If we went on a money diet we would end up with truly worthwhile lives.
The difference between being good with money and bad with money
