The mask of respectability

This is an interesting idea which I'm thinking about.

The idea is that Social Services, children's homes, young offenders institutions, the prison services, The Home Office is a vast industry. Each section makes a profit off the other.

I don't know much about any of these sections of "the industry" but I know that in the USA, prison services are private companies. I think some are in UK too.

The idea disquiets me. I am willing to believe it to be true. The comodity that is used to make the profit, are children.

Behind the mask of respectability, hide horrible undercurrents. We ask "How could society IN THOSE DAYS let that happen?" Here is a comprehensive link to The Monsters of Medomsley.

The 27 suicides and missing children of the nineties in the young offenders care establishment are not explained - yet.

Behind our current respectability, we pretend nothing similar happens today. We add a lucrative section of psychologists now into "the industry"  (because we are respectable) yet the industry is still under fire.
2012 - Care system 'fails young offenders', says report
2013 - Youth justice system is 'failing vulnerable young offenders'
2014 - the industry grows - 'Fortified school' planned to improve education of young offenders

The Standing Committee for Youth Justice is not a parliamentary committee but a membership body; it describes itself as "an alliance of over 30 organisations working together to improve the youth justice system in England and Wales".

Just wondering....

The money diet makes you feel so gooood! Like Paleo and vaping

I was working on a post that I was going to call "the Money Diet". My Paleo way of eating and exercising and vaping instead of smoking is very satisfying. It makes me happy and my health is excellent at the moment. I am perfect except for the tendancy towards a sugar reading on the cusp of being diabetic. I control my sugar to be normal by eating a high fat, low carb diet.

But my money diet is equally pleasing! I spend very little. I buy most of my clothes second hand, not because I am mean particularly, but I lower the rape of the earth in a small way by doing this. And real people get my money. We don't go out to eat much, because husband is a fantastic cook and "out" food is somehow disappointing, not memorable. Why waste money on second grade goods? If we do buy a big item, we go for good rather than price and avoid silly white goods insurance where in two years you could buy two new machines for the price of it instead. We have found wonderful good things on Freegle which is a system of giving away freely that which you no longer need. And we give too.

There is a most delicious delight in the feeling that you have aquired something valuable in exchange for your money rather than feeling let down by it. Its the same feeling I get when I do not eat the coffee and walnut cake covered with butter icing or smoked an analogue instead of vaping.

Vaping pleases me, not only because I enjoy it more than smoking tobacco, but because it is a really good experience for less money than smoking. I would assume it will be heavily taxed in the future when we are made into dispicable nicotine addicts by the really dispicable Tobacco Control Industry. That will be a shame.

So I was beavering away at this post, when I found this excellent post that follows. Please read and enjoy. If we went on a money diet we would end up with truly worthwhile lives.

The difference between being good with money and bad with money

Paleo fat loading, Vaping and our health "experts"

We just came back from a birthday morning coffee bash where I vaped happily, comfortably, like I do at home.  I feel good about myself.  I feel good because I didn't have a piece of the coffee walnut cake covered with butter icing.  If you follow this blog you will know I practise the paleo eating habit.  Coffee walnut cake covered with butter icing is not on the list of things a caveman might have found somewhere. Several members of the family follow the same way of eating. They didn't have any either.

The weirdest thing is that you feel so good in yourself, so well. that you don't want to screw that feeling up, not even for the momentary pleasure of rolling a mouthful of coffee walnut cake oozing with butter icing around in the mouth.  Or smoking an analogue - vapers will understand this good feeling.

Coffee walnut cake oozing with butter icing will shortly make the body weary and the brain dull.  And you can feel it doing it. The next day is hungover with coffee walnut cake oozing butter icing poisoning.  Some people reading this will think I'm exaggerating,. But those on paleo will know exactly what I am talking about.

The main culprits in coffee walnut cake dripping with butter icing are the flour and the sugar and probably a few modern chemicals added to make it especially delicious to our jaded tongues.  Flour is poisonous.  Sugar is poisonous.  The chemicals we add to commercially produced foods are mostly poisonous.  The stuff that's been added to natural tobacco has made it poisonous too.

I sound like a zealot.  But I'm not.  I believe it is only a matter of time before more and more people will discover how food affects them from personal experience and they will also dump the coffee walnut cake oozing with butter icing because the poisoning from it isn't worth it.  The feeling of health and vibrancy you have when not poisoned is better.  The same will happen with smokers who move to vaping.

I fat load.  Paleo people will know what I mean.  I fat load because I am on the edge of being categorised as a type two diabetic. I am avoiding the clutches of the diabetic nurse who cannot understand how I keep my sugar normal by fat loading.  She is under the mistaken impression that fat is bad for you.  She was taught that by health experts who were taught that by more health experts who actually know jack shit.

Many of our diseases are caused by our health experts.  The meat on sale in shops is a crime and butchers throw the fat away! The low fat industry should be abolished and people should eat proper food that has not been made unhealthy by anti fat idiots. I do not touch sugar or wheat - they have been altered by the food industry as tobacco has been. They have been made poisonous by US. And vaping should be welcomed by anti smoking experts - they have not felt the benefits us vapers feel.

Fat does not cause heart attacks, strokes, obesity, cholesterol or any of the other crimes it is accused of. I burn the fat that I eat as energy.  I don't need sugar.  I am seldom hungry. I eat very little. I seldom crave anything and I am not overweight.  If we ate fat as we once used to when fat was the most valuable treasure all sorts of other problems might melt away, like the obesity problem we are told about constantly.  Fortunately more and more people are becoming wise about how silly Public Health experts really are.

Two areas that prove it  without doubt is the false dietary information we are fed and the attitude to vaping electronic cigarettes as shown by the very bad legislation putrefying in the European Parliamentary heap.

A rich fat diet would stop people eating so much because eating fat makes you feel satisfied and gives you energy and electronic cigarettes would reduce smoking. I believe that the "experts " who regulate how we should stay healthy by pontificating about fat and electronic cigarettes are doing us great harm. We can FEEL the difference in our bodies and that's how we know.

It's really simple.

Aaah! Russell Brand - clever man, an arsehole or a gibbering fool? Your call.

If you like the activity of thinking watch Russell Brand. He has some stimulating ideas and watching this video was my today's You Tube painful/pleasing treat.  I think he might mature into being less of a restless visual annoyance and  more of a really brilliant speaker if he could just leave out being a gabbling idiot in between ideas.

This is him at Cambridge Union talking about really important things to our future rulers..

Anyway - enjoy or hate - or skip through - its up to you!

Pleasing me - Vaping, paleo eating and MY kind of excercise

I have felt really well since I switched to vaping in 2011. It really has suited me in every way - elegance, cleanliness, fun and has become an exciting hobby in my golden years. I have a lot of extra breath in me now. But I'm still a lazy so and so.

You might remember, I have blogged that I follow Paleo eating. I usually feel great unless I break it and then I can feel the dull and lethargic difference.

I hate exercise. I am happiest when I am sitting vaping and drinking coffee rich with double cream.

Paleo excercise seems as logical to me as Paleo eating.

PALEO WORKOUTS

"Paleo exercise should be fun and engaging. It should have a lot of variety so you don’t get bored or burnt out. It does not require going to gyms, running around tracks, or using elliptical machines. It does require you to get up off your butt and make a little effort though."

Move Around A Lot at a Slow Pace  - I do this naturally.
Avoid Chronic Cardio - Ditto
Lift Heavy Things - I've always done this because I'm too impatient to wait for help. Unless someone else is there, and then I would never dream of it!
Sprint Once in a While - Never, not since I came last in Baby School sports day.

I walk the dog when I feel guilty though.

That should be enough.

Translucence rising - "Global warming" - please share

My new year's wish was that this would be a year of exposing truth and the mud will start dropping to the bottom of our grubby pond. It's going to be a fantastic year. I am delighted to bring you the following!

And now it's global COOLING! Return of Arctic ice cap as it grows by 29% in a year

"A chilly Arctic summer has left 533,000 more square miles of ocean covered with ice than at the same time last year – an increase of 29 per cent.

The rebound from 2012’s record low comes six years after the BBC reported that global warming would leave the Arctic ice-free in summer by 2013.

Instead, days before the annual autumn re-freeze is due to begin, an unbroken ice sheet more than half the size of Europe already stretches from the Canadian islands to Russia’s northern shores."

I have added this sentence after several comments showed confusion about my delight. It was caused by the proving of "wrongness".  To make it clear that in the 1970's experts told us it was "Global cooling". But I don't think it was used to make money off world citizens. You could only do that profitably when, like smokers were made guilty, you could "prove" it was our fault by "experts". "Global warming" has been a MOST PROFITABLE idea.

Side effects - what Doctors don't tell you and probably don't know

My husband and I are sitting chatting in our lounge. I'm vaping and drinking coffee, husband is having tea. He is going up to the doctors for an  I N R test - hes on warferin. I N R tests test the blood viscosity. Husband has been a walking pharmacy for several years for diabetes and since his heart attack and mini stroke he's Big Pharma's best friend. Husband has had regular "funny turns" in the morning. Always in the morning. Scientific thinking tells me it's being triggered by something. I consulted the Internet. Yes! "Funny turns" are triggered by four - FOUR - pills that have the exact same "funny turn" description in their side effects.

Husband says side effects make Big Pharma rejoice because then they will make sales for the  pills that are given you to treat the side effects.

And I have asked doctors for several years "Why is my husband on pills for high blood pressure and cholesterol, when he has NEITHER of these things?" The doctors tell me the pills are treating the diabetes. I am thinking, the pills are making my husband SICK!

I believe doctors are supposed to tell you  the possible side effects of the pills they prescribe.

In our experience no doctor every has!

Mission Creep UK

Here are four links to subjects that are not what they seem. They are AGENDAS in disguise.

Shall I unmask them? They are ALL about CONTROL.

David Cameron's internet porn filter is the start of censorship creep This one speaks for itself - "Smoking" and "Vaping" included in non accessible information I will presume?

One million school children fingerprinted at school This one is about future Databases - though they say not - should we believe them?

Has obesity quadrupled in developing countries? This one is about fudging science so it can be used to beat fat people over the head with.

Hold the line against tobaccoThis one is against - what would you guess? Yes! ELECTRONIC CIGARETTES!

This last link is so good, I thought I would give myself the pleasure of posting the whole thing! It's a little attempt at sharing the idea that some vaper might like to follow BMJ Editor Fiona Godlee on Twitter @fgodlee and the BMJ @bmj_latest or email her - email supplied below!

How should we view e-cigarettes? As a safe and effective way to quit tobacco? (There is some evidence in support of these claims for harm minimisation.) Or as a grave risk to public health because of their potential to renormalise and glamourise smoking, especially among young people? New York’s mayor Michael Bloomberg has made his own view clear. In one of his final acts before leaving office, he has banned the smoking of e-cigarettes in indoor public places (doi:10.1136/bmj.f7677).

Bloomberg’s track record on public health has been extraordinary. Although his critics charge him with failing to tackle New York’s rampant social inequalities, there is no doubt he has provided global leadership in public health. His administration’s moves against tobacco, trans fats, and sugary drinks, and for promoting physical activity and calorie counts on menus, are credited with improving life expectancy among New Yorkers—now two years higher than the US national average. But just as importantly, his clarity and courage has helped administrations around the world take a firmer line against industries and behaviours that harm the public’s health.

Will others copy his decision on e-cigarettes? Scotland may be one place to watch. As Katherine E Smith and Jeff Collin say in their editorial (doi:10.1136/bmj.f7595), Scotland has good reason to claim public health leadership within the United Kingdom. As well as being the first place in Britain to ban smoking in public places, the Scottish government endorsed standardised cigarette packaging and held firm on a minimum price for alcohol, in stark contrast to the UK government’s equivocations.

It aims to make Scotland “smoke free” by 2034. Success in this may depend on taking a firm stance on e-cigarettes. While e-cigarettes will help some smokers to quit, they also threaten to blur battle lines and reverse hard won gains in tobacco control. In their Analysis article, Marisa de Andrade and colleagues warn that commercial exploitation of e-cigarettes is undermining any potential public health benefits (doi:10.1136/bmj.f7473). The industry claims that e-cigarettes are all about harm minimisation. But it is developing and promoting products for first time users and encouraging long term use among existing smokers. E-cigarettes also legitimise the industry, buying tobacco companies a seat as “partners” at the health policy table.

With figures from the World Health Organization showing an increase in the number of young smokers, now is the time to tighten tobacco controls. The authors conclude that e-cigarettes should be regulated not as medicines but as tobacco products, and that the tobacco industry should be excluded from the policy making arena. And, I would add, from the funding of medical research, since this is another way in which industry seeks to legitimise itself. The BMJ and its sister journals recently announced that we would no longer publish research funded by the tobacco industry (doi:10.1136/bmj.f5193).

Unsurprisingly, tobacco company researchers are unhappy with this decision. In a letter this week, Christopher Procter calls the new policy “antiscience” and invites the BMJ to reconsider its decision (doi:10.1136/bmj.f7489). We have no such plans.

Seaworld - Corporate Greed - one Corporation at a time.

I am taking 2014 as the starting point in MY life to assist in exposing that which is  untrue. Those things which ordinary people like me, have just accepted as the way things are done because OTHER people do them, or experts tell us how it should be done. I am not a conspiracy theorist - well, only a little, in that I believe where there's smoke, there's likely to be fire. So, everytime I see a little truth escape, it UPLIFTS me. Last year I promised not to constantly moan about life here, and the thing that makes me happiest, is to see I'm not the only one who does not simply accept they incarnated into such a strange planet, without trying to fix it. Other people don't like it either! Next life, I shall make other arrangements.

Today, I watched Black Fish. This link simply tells you how it was made.

but you can WATCH the movie in two parts HERE. Its worth the time. WARNING - You might not be the same person afterwards.

Transluscence arising - please share and share

My wish for 2014 is that THIS YEAR the mud will fall to the bottom of the pond. And boy, there's plenty of mud!

These things made me feel good today....

Drug companies accused of holding back complete information on clinical trials

“No longer possible to believe much of clinical research published”

Nobel Winner boycotts journals Nature, Science, and Cell for damage to science

And DO take the trouble to watch this video - you will feel GREAT! It's going to be a really good year don't you think?

Wedding dress vaping

Now we have got over Christmas and New year, there's THE WEDDING in March. I understood it was going to be very simple - "fish and chips to go" kind of wedding. Well, it's not.

Today, after swimming which I do weekly and come home pretty much wanting to blob out for the rest of the day, we looked after some small grandchildren while their mommies all went out to advise on the wedding dress.

Daddy came to fetch them after work. Peace has descended once more. Its SO nice!

NOW I can blob out. Vaping, drinking coffee with cream and watching the telly with the dog lying on my feet is what I'm doing - what could be nicer than that?

My 2014 wish

This is 2014

My wish for this year. is that it will be the year of exposure and "inconvenient truths".

The year has started magnificently with Climate Scientists out to prove Global Warming stuck in thick ice in the Antarctic Summer. They have  made some successful observations including that  Mawson's hut was at the edge of open water, yet our Climate Scientists at the same place see sea-ice "as far as the eye can see". The penguins there (more than they expected) are dying because of the vast ice build up obviously in place for several years, making open water hard to get to. Listen here

As the Climate heats up, there will be more sea ice. The mass of ice is the fault of Global Warming it seems.

Is it?  Well OK if you say so. But to me it looks like an inconvenient truth!

Mawson's Terrible Journey is an interesting read about the difficulties of  science 100 years ago

I hope many "Experts" will be challenged in 2014. It could be a fun year if it happens!
